Alex Mochi is the prolific game designer behind the $4 million grossing Rise of Industry, and an expert veteran consultant in the industry. Alex was looking to raise his profile, bringing in more consulting leads and begin creating educational content to help beginners and veterans in the industry alike.

Overview

Alex Mochi reached out to us wanting to begin producing educational content to share his knowledge, grow a community, and bring in more leads for his consulting services. We immediately got to work. We worked with Alex closely to create educational content in his voice, coaching him on delivery and recording for video content. To bring attention to his content, we devised an omnichannel PR campaign based on his experience creating Rise of Industry - and on release, it soared: earning 350k views (270k on TikTok alone!), reaching the top of r/indiedev, r/games, r/tycoon and r/realtimestrategy and achieving coverage from gamesindustry.biz.

Challenge

Create educational content for Alex Mochi to grow his audience and generate inbound consulting leads.

Insight

We were tasked with producing innovative, engaging educational content for Alex, in order to grow his Discord community & consulting opportunities. We knew our task was not only to create interesting content, but to draw in a wide audience to ensure that it was seen.

Approach

Omnichannel Content
We worked with Alex to create content across all platforms - social (LinkedIn), video (YouTube & TikTok), and editorial (SEO) to drive engagement to Alex’s Discord server, and inbound leads. Our very first LinkedIn post for Alex garnered huge attention, and enormous inbound leads.
PR Campaign
We knew that for Alex to succeed, he needed a jumpstart to his channels. Our ‘Revenue of Rise of Industry’ campaign provided just that - earning over 350k organic views, catapulting Alex to the top of r/indiedev and r/games, and garnering mainstream press coverage, including from gamesindustry.biz.
Strategy & Planning
None of this would have been possible without our strategy and planning work, conducted at the very beginning of our campaign. We helped Alex refine his voice, defining his positioning and meticulously planning our goals and KPIs to make sure we were bringing the results Alex needed - which is where the plan for our PR campaign was born.

Outcome

We worked with Alex to create a marketing & content strategy that was authentic and remained true to his values, whilst providing an engine for Alex’s continued success.

Within just one month, we knew that our planning & content creation strategy had paid off: our first LinkedIn post earned 40,000 organic views (an order of magnitude increase over Alex’s previous posts), and prompted inbound leads from one of the UK’s largest developers.

We had the content nailed, but our mission was far from over. We knew that for the results we were looking for, we needed to kickstart Alex’s content with a huge injection of views and community members - and so we worked towards our PR campaign, leveraging Alex’s experience with Rise of Industry to create an irresistible viral video.
